Hi Peggers,

21 in the books already wow we are having a very good season so far.  This time round we had 3 absentees but made up for it with two visitors, the brothers Pitt dropped in Gary from Forks and Tom from Moclips.

1.      Margie McNeece  17, 08, 98
2.      Tom Pitt                 13, 06, 10
3.      Gary Pitt                12, 06, 82
4.      Ron Gustafson   10, 05, 53
5.      Lisa Duff                10, 05, -14
6.      Fran Sales               08, 04, 14
7.      Sharon Hamilton 06, 03, -64
8.      Larry Lindberg  04, 02, -64
9.      Jim Duff                 04, 02, -100

Last 24 Lisa Duff

Margie "Misery" McNeece came to play today and did she ever!  Game one she started with Ron "Da Champ" Gustafson and tuned him up by a couple of pegs, but this seemed to be the jump start she was looking for.  Game 2 was decided in a quick and to here Margie tell it a "dirty fashion" as Jim "Teacher" Duff hit nothing but hands in the teens and never missed a cut in route to a 27 peg win and put the lone smudge on the score card for Margie..   Margie then put the hammer down and rolled through the rest of the club and both of the guests with 7 wins in a row as follows: 9 pegs over Frannie Sales, 34 pegs over Sharon Hamilton, 12 over Lisa Duff, 23 over Tom Pitt, 8 over Gary Pitt, 13 over Larry Lindberg, and a thorough spanking of Ron Gustafson in game 9 by 24.

Tom Pitt from Moclips was visiting his brother Gary in Forks and they popped on in to try their hands with us today.  Game 1 saw Sharon Hamilton greet Tom with a 22 point loss.  Tom then took on Lisa Duff in game 2 and put a 36 point skunk loss on her.  He followed that with  game 3 win over brother Gary Pitt by 2.  Game 4 Larry Lindberg stepped up and was set down by Tom by 13.  Tom dropped games 5 and 6 to Ron Gustafson and Margie McNeece by 17 and 23 respectively. He then ran the table in games 7, 8, and 9 wins over Jim Duff by 7, Fran Sales by 12 and Sharon Hamilton by 2.

Gary Pitt (he runs the 4th of July Cribbage tournament in Forks) started his day on a roll.  He won the first 3 games from Fran Sales by 15, Sharon Hamilton by 22 and Lisa Duff by 27.  Had a little hiccup in game 4 against brother Tom Pitt and lost by 2. Then beat Larry Lindberg in game 5 by 3.  Games 6 and 7 not so good for Gary he lost to Ron Gustafson by 5 then to Margie McNeece by 8.  Gary finished the day with wins in games 8 and 9 over Jim Duff by 28 and Fran Sales by just 2.

One interesting(?) side light from todays matches is the fact that I was the only person in the tournament that Larry Lindberg could beat!  Yes, that's correct he beat me in his game 1 and in his game 9 and no one else the entire day.  Gee, I feel so privileged!!  LOL  Just another crazy day at the boards.  Larry and I were both tail gunners today with me dead last.  However I have one claim to fame I beat the winner Margie by a nice sum to spoil her grand slam!!

I have forwarded to you all the news and the address on you tube to be able to sit in the comfort of your home and be taught by RAS from his classes currently being held in Chehalis.  Now this precludes time and expense on your part to participate plus you can replay the parts of the lessons over and over till you get it. Such a deal!

All of the video from WEEK ONE is now posted on  YOUTUBE.COM.
If you go to YouTube's website and search on "RAS Class" or "cribbage class", 13 videos on various subjects will show up.

If you find this instruction video useful, please consider sending a $1 to $5 donation to support Dan Zeisler's ACC Youth Cribbage Program.
Dan's address can be found in CRIBBAGE WORLD each month. (Maybe note "RAS CLASS" on your check so Dan will know why you're sending him money.)

Additional videos will be added over the next nine weeks until the entire course has been posted on YouTube.

Also, class materials have been posted online at VASHONCRIBBAGE.COM.  Look for them on the STRATEGY  page of the website.

I have cut and pasted excerpts from the E-mail so you can have access to the sites from here.  Ras has been my mentor for years, I can assure you what he says is fact not fiction, and you will be a better player by studying along with Ras for the next 10 weeks.  Also I can assure you I will be!!

Other news, not so good , well at least for the onset.  Margie is taking another job which will cause her to work each and every Saturday.  So unless we can switch off club play date, crib play is over for her.  We did a real quick survey of the players and found the only other time when we can play is Friday night starting at 1800 (6:00 P.M.) and hopefully ending by around 2100 (9:00P.M.) this allows Lisa to play as she is off on Friday and Saturday it will open outside tournaments for the rest of the club as almost all of them are played on Saturday and Sunday.  So we only need to hear back from the three missing members and that would be Curt, Brian and Rick.  I checked with the Eagles and we can use the back card room on Friday evening as they have nothing going on then. We truly hope this new play time will be of benefit to all as it enables us to keep Margie as an active member.  The change will become effective  the first week in April and continue to the end of the season at the end of May and on into next year!

The National GR play is still set for April 3 and unfortunately Margie will miss that but it is a long set (18 games) and no way to be played in an evening.

Hope this finds one and all in great health a good spirits and lets see ya back at the boards next week Saturday!!

Aloha for now,

Jim & Lisa Duff
