Weekly Play
You are not required to be at the cribbage club every
week. The season runs September 3, 2010 to May 27, 2011.
Buy in fee per person $5
Last 24 pool *
$1 (optional)
28/29 Pool ** $1
(optional)
Last Raggedy Ron ***
$1 (optional)
Q-pool $5
(optional)
The $5 weekly buy in fee is divided among, and awarded to, those with the
top 25% scores. The Q-pool, if you choose to participate, pays to those
with the top 20% of scores.
* Last 24 Pool
Whoever has the very last 24 hand at the end of the night is awarded the
pool, which is $1 per player. If no one gets a 24 hand, the funds
carry over to the following week, but that rarely happens!
** 28/29 Pool
Each week members only (no guests or visitors will be included in
this special pool) can pay $1 into this pool. The funds accumulate week
after week until a member draws a 28 or 29 hand. Half of the total
pool fund is paid for a 28 hand. The entire pool fund is paid for a 29
hand. The 28/29 pool is capped at a maximum of $500.
***Last Raggedy Ron Pool
The last person holding the Raggedy Ron doll
at the end of the night will win the pool, which is $1 per player. A
Raggedy Ron hand is either an 8-7-6-1-1 or 8-7-6-22.
We play 9 games each week, with 9 different opponents. The goal to the
weekly games is #1
to have fun! The #2 goal is to accumulate
as many points as possible, and hopefully win a portion of the weekly pot.
Not everyone will win every week, thus goal #1 should always be in effect!!
The more points accumulated, the more goodies and awards you will win.
(Please explore the
American Cribbage
Congress Website, or
ACC Grass Roots Website
for the best information.)
If you accumulate a minimum number of points per season, you will qualify
for the "TOC," (Tournament of Champions), an invitation only
tournament, where you and 900 of your closest friends, will play cribbage at
the Sands Regency in Reno, Nevada.
At the end of the season, the PA Pegger with the most points will be awarded
a certificate and a special trophy board.
