PA Peggers at the
2010 Clallam County Fair
Richard Brown of Sequim, winner of the drawing for the cribbage
board.
The 2010 edition of the Clallam County Fair is in the
books. Attendance to the fair was down a bit, but there was little shortage
in the cribbage booth. We had three boards working and people waiting to
play too! Not bad for a little tiny fair, with but one cribbage club in
attendance.
The booth this time around was decorated much better, and Lisa Duff was
responsible for the mural painted on the peg board donated by Ron Gustafson.
We used the mural peg board to display many trophy boards that our members
have won at tournaments.
Our booth got one vote for
"Peoples Choice Award" for the Hobby Barn! And
we didn't even vote for ourselves, either. We received a ribbon for
participation, and were the only interactive FREE game in the entire fair!!
We handed out a hundred or more pens and copies of
"Cribbage World", played
several hundred games, and were soundly beaten about 75 times. The winner
of the drawing for the "Birds Eye" Maple board is Robert Brown of Sequim.
Thank you to all the Peggers that made this fair a success. Thank you for
your tireless hours manning the booth, from putting a great face on the game
of cribbage, to building the booth, tearing it down, and making sure we left
the Hobby Barn in great shape. It is nice to be able to have a great bunch
of club members to count on to promote itself and the ACC!!
